Stanken kring AIBA

Den Internationella Olympiska Kommittén har beslutat att undersöka det internationella boxningsförbundet AIBA. De många korrupta domsluten under Rio-OS är bara toppen på isberget. Det finns gott om dubiösa ekonomiska transaktioner som nu skall belysas. AIBA är satt under press vilket är bra. Den bulgariske journalisten Ognian Georgiev har gjort ett gott journalistiskt hantverk om AIBA. Artiklarna har presenterats som en serie rapporter på sajten Fightnews.com. Boxing Canada is the national governing body for the sport of boxing in Canada recognized by the Canadian Olympic Committee has weighed in on the controversies at the Rio Olympics:

Following questionable decisions and alleged corruption claims occurring at the Rio 2016 Boxing competition, a global strategy is being put in place to pressure AIBA into addressing and correcting the situation.

Boxing Canada strongly believes that the integrity of our sport and athletes must be protected while faced with injustice and we will not tolerate any unfair judgment. Although small measures have been taken by AIBA, combined efforts with our partners will continue until the integrity of boxing is restored and has reached a satisfactory level.
